The construction site is located in Dörgicse by the Balatonakali Road in a new residential area. The outlying agricultural area has recently been subdivided into new plots to ease the overpopulation of the town.
Beyond complying with local regulations in terms of architectural alignment, form and use of materials, the real challenge was to reinterpret the Balaton Highland region’s distinctive architectural legacy with contemporary means.
In the old village under historic preservation, the regulations are fixed so our goal on the newly subdivided land was to integrate tradition with contemporary design concepts. The more stringent protection of the Balaton Highland’s atmosphere, the harmony of constructed and natural environments surrounding the historic settlement is of paramount importance.
