Summer house, Felsőörs

The design has been created for the town of Felsőörs on the north shore of Lake Balaton with a lake view. Currently the plot is occupied by a wood-frame rest shack built in the 1970s.

The structure is designed with a light-weight, layered wooden frame. Absent is the traditional cellar. The building is balanced on the slope by legs. There is an elevated, boarded terrace around the building that is the organic part of the ground floor layout.

The region’s regulations require a mandatory agricultural function, the high roof, the building’s orientation and the use of traditional engineering. The North Balaton Region’s outdated, anachronistic regulations don’t allow for metal sheet roofing or a wooden façade.
