The Department of Residential Design at the Budapest Technical University has launched a research project titled ODOO2 that examines the untapped architectural tools available to design eco-friendly family homes. Specifically, it aims to focus on the impact of recent innovations in building engineering on the architectural space, form, and on constructed structures. The small conference generated a number of debates and issues.
The MUSHROOM consists of a residential box and above it a round mechanism with slats. Around the box are covered, open terraces. This connecting space establishes a relationship between the garden and the building. The slatted mechanism serves as shading and to capture solar energy.
